As you can see the Open Air Litter Robot 3 is slightly elevated. This makes it a dog proof litter box. But there is a downside to it. Most old cats cannot simply use an elevated box. It is very painful and uncomfortable for them.

If you truly love your cat, and want to make the rest of it’s life better and pain-free, you should get the Litter Robot III ramp. Also, there is a litter mat added to the ramp.

Every time the cat leaves the box, there would be some nasty litter attached to it’s paws. If there is not some kind of mat or ramp, all of that litter (infected with bacteria and germs) would be spread across your household.
